Masai Mara
8 Days · 9 Nights
A Mara safari that is shorter than a week is mostly spent in the vehicle getting there. Nine nights lets the group sleep in Nairobi or fly to a bush strip, then take morning and late-afternoon drives without filling the hot middle of the day. January’s wildlife is explained for the week you travel, not from a poster.
Enquire on this departureHighlights
- A Nairobi arrival night, unless the flight timing truly allows a same-day bush connection
- A camp or lodge inside the reserve or a conservancy, named on the quote
- Game drives in the cool hours, with a tracker or guide who stays with the vehicle
- An optional dawn balloon, priced apart and never described as included
Good to know
- Park and conservancy fees are a large part of a Kenya safari. They are listed on their own line.
- Yellow fever and passport rules depend on your routing. We check them against the itinerary, not a rumour.
- A balloon flight is weather-dependent and is quoted only if you ask for it.
- Children and infants on safari have camp age rules. Tell us the ages at enquiry.
An indicative flow
How the days usually sit.
This is the rhythm we recommend. It is not a contract. Weather, opening hours, and your flights will move a day, and the final plan is written after we speak.

Nairobi
Land, sleep, then go
Meet at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Unless the connection is genuinely kind, the first night is in Nairobi. A same-day road transfer to the Mara is a long, poor start and we will say so.

Into the Mara
Light aircraft or a deliberate road day
Most groups are better on a scheduled flight to a Mara strip. The road is available when the group prefers it and accepts the hours. The camp welcome is the programme for that afternoon.

Safari days
Dawn drive, rest, late drive
The useful pattern is an early drive, breakfast back in camp, the hot hours off, and a second drive as the day cools. We do not sell six hours of continuous driving as a feature.

January, honestly
Resident game first
January can still hold herds on the Mara, and it can be a resident-game month. River crossings are a seasonal event and are not a January promise. Before you pay we will tell you what camps are actually seeing.
